Nerys Richards

Dubbing Mixer

Nerys is Evolutions' longest-serving Dubbing mixer, having joined in 2000 from Carlton TV and prior to that Silk Sound, with an interlude as a freelance Classical music editor. Her interest in sound, however, dates back to when she first picked up a musical instrument at the age of 7 and not long after that saw a TV programme about how the sound effects for Dr. Who were created. She remembers thinking it would be an interesting way of earning a living. Fast forward to the university years and the University of Surrey, where she studied Music and Sound, recording on the world-renowned and rather grandly named Tonmeister course before being released into the workplace. She enjoys working on all genres, especially music and anything involving creating crazy sound effects. Nerys has a cheerful and unflappable demeanour, where nothing is too much trouble, and she prides herself on attention to detail. Nerys plays the piano, violin, and viola and can often be found playing in various amateur and semi-pro-orchestras around London and the South East. She also enjoys travelling to exotic places and watching wildlife. Nerys is also a qualified scuba diver, with a fondness for very large sharks - and yes, she has seen a great white!!
