Stacey Dooley Investigates: Shot by My Neighbour

BBC Northern Ireland for BBC Three and BBC Worldwide

Every year dozens of people in Northern Ireland are shot in the legs or assaulted by vigilante armed groups from their own neighbourhoods. These brutal, paramilitary-style shootings are known as ‘kneecappings’. They can leave the victims, usually young men, with lifelong physical and mental injuries. Stacey Dooley meets people who have been shot as well as people within affected communities who are standing up to the attackers, and she tries to speak to some of those behind the attacks.
