Colin Chipchase

Colin Chipchase

Dubbing Mixer

About Colin

After completing an MSc in Sound Design at the University of Edinburgh, Colin headed south and began climbing the ranks of audio post-production. After several years in London he moved west to Bristol, motivated by the city’s reputation for factual and natural history programming. After a short stint as a freelancer he joined Evolutions on a permanent basis in 2019.

Colin prides himself on his can-do attitude, meticulous attention to detail and creative problem solving. He takes a narrative approach to mixing, carefully considering all sonic elements and how they help tell a story. Calm and proactive under pressure, he relishes the chance to collaborate with clients. Regardless of the genre, Colin has a genuine drive to ensure every project sounds as great as it possibly can.

Away from the mixing desk Colin can usually be found running, cycling, or on Saturday afternoons, playing football in Bristol’s famous Down’s League.

Paolo Proto – Series Producer on DIY SOS

“I have worked with Will on numerous projects over the years including commercials, short films and broadcast work. Frequently during a track lay or mix Will will say “Ohh, I can imagine the sound I just cant describe it.” He will then go and make that sound and it is usually perfect, he has something you cant buy off the shelf, a good ear.
