Evolutions To Open New Facility In Soho
Evolutions will open a new purpose-designed 30-suite post-production facility on Soho’s Berwick Street in September.
The completely file-based operation, which represents a £2m investment, will occupy all four floors of a brand new 13,000 sq ft self-contained office development.
The 59 Berwick Street facility will consist of 24 Avid Composer offline editing suites plus four Avid Symphony online suites and two Avid Pro Tools sound dubbing theatres, all running on high-spec workstations and running the latest versions of software.
Production office space, client breakout areas, a screening room and a bar with roof terrace will also be added.
An additional 25 members of staff, from runners to creatives, will be recruited.
As with all Evolutions’ facilities, 59 Berwick Street is to be marketed to Indies and broadcasters making entertainment, light entertainment, comedy and factual programmes.
Evolutions managing director Simon Kanjee said: “With the amount of work that has been coming our way, especially shiny floor light entertainment shows, Sheraton Street and Great Pulteney Street have been bulging at the seams, so we needed to add more suites. When we saw what was on offer at 59 Berwick Street we knew it would be a good fit for us. Not only is it a great location, the building is really well appointed. Once it is finished our clients will be able to work in light and comfortable surroundings and have access to what will be a very enticing bar and roof terrace. It is no surprise that we already have jobs booked in.”
Keys to the new office were handed over last week. The technical build for the new facility is currently underway as is a recruitment drive.
Jigsaw 24 is supplying software and hardware. AKA Design is providing bespoke furniture. The Evolutions engineering team will install the equipment and integrate the various systems.
Once the first phase of the kit-out is completed in September, Evolutions will make the Berwick Street facility its headquarters. It is expected that the facility will be fully operational by October.
